Rowan Saam is a Grade 12 learner and captain of DSJ's 2025 Olympiad team in Cape Town — a role he shares with Nikki from Grade 11 and that follows on from a stint in the previous Olympiad squad. He trains nearly every day, gets up at five each morning to run with his father, does martial arts, athletics and ball sports, and rarely makes it home before seven. Alongside the overall captaincy he leads the athletics team; running, throwing and jumping are how he means to push DSJ to a clean overall win.
