Hendrik Teutenberger is from Warstein in the Sauerland and teaches biology and geography at DSJ; his actual subject, politics, hasn't yet found a slot here. Before Johannesburg he taught for six years in Hamburg and, before that, two in Guadalajara, Mexico — a stretch during which he survived a highway crash, two muggings and a graze from a bullet. Off the timetable he is a serious marathon runner (a 2:58 in Hamburg) and has appeared twice on German TV cooking shows, most recently the "Familienkochduell" with his mother.
